'I'm not having it!' - Ex-Man Utd star 'so annoyed' by Marcus Rashford's 'ridiculous' interview with Henry Winter as he backs Ruben Amorim's stance on want-away forward

Saha, who played for United between 2004 and 2008, says he was "so annoyed" by Rashford's recent interview with Henry Winter, where the forward revealed his desire to leave United for a "new challenge". Rashford has not featured for the club in their last nine matches across all competitions, with his last appearance coming against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12. He has been linked with a move away from the Red Devils in the January transfer window as European giants like Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing him.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Saha said of Rashford's revelations to Winter: "I’m torn in two on the Marcus Rashford situation because I'm so annoyed with his interview. It was absolutely ridiculous. It hasn’t helped his case and hasn’t helped the club, or the team. It hasn’t helped anyone apart from an agent or another club!

"I don’t even want to comment because I love the boy so much, I really do. I respect his talent, and I can understand the difficulty but at this level of professionalism, you are the best player and the star of this club and this city – it's ridiculous! I’m not having it."

He added: "I can’t see anything good coming from this because we’ve seen this situation before with Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo and even Paul Pogba. Why is he doing it again?! Rashford doesn’t win anything with his comments, and it puts the manager in a difficult position because he has his own team to build and a foundation to work with and Rashford’s not helping him."

Saha also backed Amorim's stance on keeping Rashford away from his starting lineup, as he said: "I agree with Ruben Amorim’s decision to put the distraction on the side because he doesn’t want to deal with questions on it every week. The club doesn’t need this, and I don’t understand why he needs to talk."

After a humiliating home defeat against Brighton in the Premier League last weekend, Amorim's side will aim to get back to winning ways when they take on Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday.
