Revealed: How Victor Osimhen could cut short Galatasaray loan & leave Napoli in January transfer window

The Nigerian forward joined the Turkish Super Lig giants from Napoli on a one-year loan deal earlier this month after missing out on transfers to Chelsea and Al-Ahli during the summer transfer window. Before leaving the club, the striker had put pen to paper on a new deal that extended his stay at the Serie A club until June 2027.

However, according to RAI Sport's Ciro Venerato, via Football Italia, the 25-year-old has a €90 million (£75m/$100m) release clause in his new contract which could prompt him to cut short his loan spell in Turkey to return to Italy during the January transfer window before securing a permanent move away from Naples. The clause, though, is not valid for Serie A clubs.

Osimhen is off to a dream start in Turkey, having scored twice and provided four assists in as many matches for Galatasaray across all competitions. He will aim to perform consistently at least until the next window to attract interest from potential suitors.

The attacker will be back in action on Thursday as the Turkish club take on Latvian side RFS in the Europa League.
