'The most special holiday' - England star Alessia Russo enjoys boat trips with family in summer break - but Arsenal attacker still finds time to work out ahead of new WSL season

Russo posted pictures on Instagram of her on a "most special" summer break in Ibiza with family and friends. The England and Arsenal star is enjoying a summer off after starring for Arsenal in the Women's Super League last season.

Russo spent the first part of her summer break with England teammates Ella Toone and Beth Mead, with the trio visiting Ibiza. The trip was also vlogged for social media, with footage shared of their parties on the Spanish island.

Russo was Arsenal's top scorer last season in the WSL as they finished third and won the League Cup for the second time in a row. The Gunners had signed Russo on a free transfer from rivals Manchester United despite the 25-year-old having been the subject of world-record bids during her time at her former club.

Russo and Arsenal will kick off their new WSL season on September 22 against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium. The ground will become Arsenal Women's main home for league games going forward.
