Barcelona president Joan Laporta has jokingly explained why Hansi Flick is better off without understanding or speaking the Catalan language. Flick made the switch to Barcelona earlier this summer and has revived the club after instilling a refreshing style of play.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Flick has been credited with introducing some stringent rules and regulations ever since arriving in Catalonia. The former Bayern Munich boss has instilled a no-nonsense attitude across the squad and doesn't entertain ill-disciplined behaviour. Laporta, while speaking at an event recently, spoke about Flick and revealed why it's better for the German manager to not speak the local language.
WHAT JOAN LAPORTA SAID
“I think that everything that is being said [about Flick] is good, but it is better that he doesn’t speak it yet, so he doesn’t fall into some trap that they [Catalan-speaking people] set for him," Laporta joked at Gala de les Estrelles (h/t MARCA).
