Atlanta United's home game against Inter Miami turned into a star-studded event as music producer Don Cannon, chart-topping rapper Latto, and acclaimed actress Linda Cardellini were spotted in the stands. The highlight of the pre-game festivities was Cardellini's participation in Atlanta United's iconic Golden Spike tradition. The trio got to witness a tough game as the Five Stripes lost thanks to a late goal from Fafa Picault after Emmanuel Latte Lath’s 11th-minute opener was canceled out by Lionel Messi’s strike nine minutes later.

The Golden Spike ceremony, where Cardellini played a central role, is a unique Atlanta United tradition. Before each home game, a notable figure hammers a golden railroad spike, symbolizing the city's history as a railroad hub and the team's connection to the community. This ritual has become a coveted honor among celebrities and local heroes alike.

Following their 2-1 loss to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, Atlanta United have dropped to 12th on the Eastern Conference table and are six points behind the league leaders, the Herons. They go on the road next to face Cincinnati FC on March 23 before returning to the Mercedez-Benz Stadium to host back-to-back home games. They first host New York City FC on March 30 before welcoming FC Dallas a week later on April 6.
