'Have some of this, a f*ck off' - Arsenal icon gives his verdict on Trent Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool celebrations and claims Reds star is 'majorly anxious' ahead of possible Real Madrid transfer

Alexander-Arnold put Liverpool on the brink of the Premier League title with a late winner at Leicester City, a result that relegated the Foxes last weekend. The 26-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a Madrid transfer this summer, took off his shirt and jumped for joy over his goal, prompting many to speculate that he may stay at Anfield or that this was a perfect goodbye. Now, Arsenal legend Wright says this may have been a bit of a "f*ck off" to those criticising the right-back.

When asked about what his celebration against Leicester meant, Wright said on Stick to Football: "It gave me the impression of a guy that was just relieved, if I’m being totally honest. If I think of him staying or leaving, it’s still majorly anxious for him and we still don’t know if he’s leaving – we’ll find out what it really means at the end of the season. It just felt like relief. It felt like a, ‘Have some of this,’ a ‘F*ck ff’ – all those emotions."

Alexander-Arnold is yet to sign a new Liverpool contract, unlike team-mates Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, and seems to be gearing up to become a free agent, before signing for Los Blancos in the coming months. The Reds academy product has faced criticism from Liverpool fans for not penning a new contract but his quality, especially in attack, cannot be denied. Plus, he has given a lot to the Merseyside outfit over the years.

Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool can seal the Premier League title on Sunday if they do anything but lose against lowly Tottenham.
