WHAT HAPPENED?
The Argentina international has decided he wants to leave the Stamford Bridge club, according to Sport, and has his heart set on a move to Barcelona. The Catalan side are looking to strengthen their squad for next season and previously showed interest in the ex-Benfica star given his excellent role in Argentina's World Cup success in 2022.
Fernandez remains a crucial figure for Mauricio Pochettino's team. He has made 29 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring six goals - most recently in his team's FA Cup fourth round tie against Aston Villa in midweek.

Fernandez will attempt to inspire Chelsea to another victory as they take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday. The Blues are now 11th in the Premier League and will be looking for a big confidence-boosting win ahead of their clash against Manchester City on February 17.
