  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The former England international had a disastrous outing in his debut game for Como on Saturday as he lasted only 10 minutes on the pitch before being sent off in the 91st minute for a poor challenge from behind on AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. His former Spurs team-mate Kyle Walker tried to convince the referee to not show Dele a direct red card, but he was sent off regardless.

    A day after the game, Dele took to Instagram to share some moments from his debut encounter where he also posted a hilarious chat with Loftus-Cheek over the red card decision. In the caption of his post, the player wrote: "2 years! Not necessarily how I planned it, but we keep moving."

    In the WhatsApp chat, Dele's messages read: "Mad ting. Picture looks bad tho, I just tried to clip your heel. When the ref went to VAR I didn't even know it was for me."

    In reply, the Rossoneri star wrote: "Bro I had no clue. I stayed down coz I was blowing." Dele replied: "Don't piss me off. I am putting this in a photo dump, that calm?"

    This was Dele's first appearance in a professional football game in over two years. His last game was for Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas in their goalless draw against Antalyaspor on February 26, 2023. After the Serie A clash, Como boss Cesc Fabregas was left furious with the midfielder's challenge as he claimed that the red card decision was correct.
