Lille defender Meunier has quipped that if United wanted him, he would not hesitate to move to the Premier League giants. However, the former Borussia Dortmund ace wouldn't want his "love" for the Red Devils to turn into hate, so perhaps staying at the French team is for the best.

WHAT MEUNIER SAID
“If they ever ask me, I’ll cycle there. (laughs),” he told Gazet van Antwerpen, via Sport Witness. “But maybe it’s better this way. Suppose I play there and have a bad time. I wouldn’t want to hate Manchester United, because I love that club so much. I went to watch them a few weeks ago, against Bilbao. In with the fans, singing, à fond (fully). Je suis un vrai. (I am a real one). I go to watch them at least once every season. But of all the home games I’ve seen in all those years, they’ve only won two. You have to have a self cruelty side to be a United supporter, right?”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Belgium international has had a distinguished career, playing for Dortmund, Lille, Paris Saint-Germain, and more. The 33-year-old has been to a World Cup, a European Championship, and won trophies in France, Belgium, and Germany. But it seems a move to United is very, very unlikely - and he admits as such.

WHAT NEXT?
While Meunier has been linked with United in the past, there is next to no chance Amorim's team will move for the 6ft 3in right-back this summer as they prepare for another rebuild.
