Who will be Chelsea's No.1? Blues' goalkeeper plan revealed with forgotten man & new face set to challenge error-prone Robert Sanchez

According to The Telegraph, Djorde Petrovic and highly-rated teenager Mike Penders will be given a chance to vie for the number one spot at Chelsea. The former has impressed on loan at Strasbourg this season after not being deemed as the right player for Enzo Maresca's style, while Penders will link up with the Blues from Genk this summer.

Sanchez has largely been Chelsea's first-choice stopper this season but has made several costly mistakes, while Jorgensen has flattered to deceive on occasion. If the Blues want to get back to challenging for the biggest trophies, having a world-class keeper is a must. It remains to be seen if any of Penders, Petrovic, Jorgensen, and Sanchez fit the bill in that regard as a big summer lies ahead for the quartet. It is likely someone will come away disappointed.

Both Penders and Petrovic will be at Chelsea in time for the Club World Cup this summer and could travel with Maresca's squad to the United States in an effort to become the club's first pick.

Sanchez will hope to be keep his place between the sticks for Chelsea when they host London rivals Tottenham in the Premier League on Thursday.
