Chelsea star Joao Pedro vomits on pitch after clash with Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli during Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Chile

In the 18th minute of Brazil’s clash with Chile, Pedro clashed head-on with his teammate Martinelli while chasing a loose ball. The impact knocked him off balance, and he vomited on the pitch as medical staff rushed to his aid. The Chelsea star continued to play on and was only substituted in the 71st minute for Kaio Jorge. He spoke about the incident afterwards and reassured fans he was now feeling better.

Speaking to the media about the collision, Pedro said: “I was following the action, I was running to try to catch the ball. When I looked ahead, Martinelli was there. We collided there, and I received a blow to the stomach. I felt a little bad, but I was calm afterwards.”

On playing for Brazil: "I'm very happy to play good football for Chelsea and to be back with the Brazilian national team. I think every boy's dream is to be here, and today I was able to start playing. I only missed a goal, which is partly due to that. But in the end, what matters is the victory."
