'We'd be billionaires' - Rob McElhenney showers Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson with huge praise after 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon

With the Red Dragons level 0-0 at half-time, the Wrexham boss spoke to his players and roused a strong second-half response. Goals from Steven Fletcher and Paul Mullin put Wrexham ahead and secured the three points to delight McElhenney.

Posting on X after the game, McElhenney said: "If we could bottle up and sell what Phil says to these players at halftime we’d be billionaires 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 ⚽️ 💥"

The second half improvement meant the Red Dragons moved into second and the automatic promotion place following Mansfield's 1-1 draw away at Morecambe. Wrexham's victory today will only boost their promotion push further as they took advantage of the sides around them dropping points.

Wrexham make the trip to Newport County next weekend in an all-Welsh clash. The Red Dragons will be eager to stamp their authority on the promotion places further.
