'Grow a pair' - Angry Wayne Rooney blasts Birmingham players after dismal draw in front of NFL legend Tom Brady

The Manchester United legend's journey as Birmingham's manager has been nothing short of disappointing as the Blues have managed to pick up just one win in the eight games he has been in charge.

On Saturday, the club were held to a goalless draw by Rotherham in front of club owner and NFL legend Tom Brady. Rooney was left frustrated with the result as he blasted his player in the post-match press conference.

Speaking to reporters, the former England striker said, "I think some players in there need to grow a pair of balls, basically, because I’m watching what they do in training and the minute there are fans out there they become a different player, a different person. That is football. You are going to have to play in front of fans, wherever you play.

"It is okay doing things on the training pitch but you have to take that into the games. We are still a young team but then the leaders in the team… that’s where Jukey (Jutkiewicz) has been brilliant. He is frustrated he doesn’t play all the games but you can see he is a leader, he is talking in there. But there are some players who have got enough experience to stand up and be leaders. They are trying but it’s silly errors, and decision-making. Game management is a big part of the game we need to improve on."

The 38-year-old also called for changes in his squad as he hoped that Brady would invest in the upcoming January transfer window and bring in new players.

After a series of poor results, the club find themselves at the bottom half of the league table with just 23 points from 19 matches. They are seven points behind sixth-placed Hull City.

The England football legend will aim to get back to winning ways in Birmingham's upcoming game which is against 17th-placed Coventry on December 8.
