'Will miss the boys' - Aaron Ramsdale sends defiant message over England future with Euro 2024 squad place in doubt due to Arsenal struggles

The lack of minutes will also hurt Ramsdale's chances of making the England squad for the European Championship finals next summer. Mikel Arteta's decision to bench Ramsdale has seen the goalkeeper lose his smile, according to his father. The move has also prompted speculation that Ramsdale could look to move on in the January transfer window in a bid to get his career back on track. The Arsenal stopper was part of England's most recent squad for games against North Macedonia and Malta but was an unused substitute in both matches.

Yet Ramsdale seems to be in defiant mood when it comes to his international future. He wrote on Instagram: "What a week it’s been with the boys. Qualification done! Will miss the boys for a few months." Ramsdale also restricted those who could comment on the post.

Ramsdale will be hoping he can force his way back into the Arsenal team which would undoubtedly boost his hopes of making the England squad for Euro 2024. The stopper has made just four Premier League starts this season, compared to Raya's eight.
