Bayern Munich’s hunt for a capable understudy to Harry Kane has hit a roadblock, as VfB Stuttgart reportedly continue to resist their efforts to sign emerging forward Nick Woltemade. The Bavarian giants have already made two formal bids, but both were swiftly turned down by Stuttgart, who are holding firm on their valuation of the 23-year-old striker.
Bayern Munich have reportedly been hit with another transfer setback after a €40 million (£35m/$47m) bid for Nick Woltemade was rejected by VFB Stuttgart. According to German outlet Bild, the proposal, which also included an additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses, was deemed far below Stuttgart’s expectations for the 23-year-old attacker.
Nick Woltemade is set for a massive pay rise if he joins Bayern Munich this summer. The striker has already informed Stuttgart that he wants to play for the Bundesliga champions, who are keen on signing the rising star. Stuttgart want to retain the player beyond this summer and have already offered a new contract, however, the Bavarian side's staggering bid might convince him to move out.
