Wolves vs Liverpool Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Monday's match is from Molineux, as Wolves play host to Liverpool in the FA Cup third round.

Liverpool are the Premier League leaders but saw their advantage at the top cut when they were beaten by Manchester City on Thursday night and will want to make an immediate return to winning ways on Monday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side, however, will offer a stiff test. Wolves, then in the Championship, beat Liverpool in this competition two years ago so will certainly fancy their chances of taking the Reds' scalp once again.

Latest odds

Liverpool were 2-0 winners when these teams met at this venue in the Premier League just before Christmas and William Hill make Jurgen Klopp's men their 10/11 (1.91)favourites to advance to the fourth round inside 90 minutes.

Wolves are chalked up as a 29/10 (3.90) chance to beat the men from Merseyside. The same firm go 13/5 (3.60) that a replay is required to separate the sides.

Team news

Both managers may be tempted to rest a number of regulars after a packed festive schedule.

Leonardo Bonatini could spearhead the home side's attack in place of Raul Jimenez. Leander Dendoncker, a Belgian international, may make a rare start.

Dendoncker's fellow countryman, Divock Origi, who scored the winning goal in last month's Merseyside derby, could lead the line for Liverpool. Daniel Sturridge, too, could start while top scorer, Mohamed Salah, may be afforded a breather.

Tight tussle?

There have been goals at both ends in just two of Wolves last 10 matches at Molineux and William Hill go even money (2.0) that either side fails to find the net.

The same firm offer 17/10 (2.70) that the Reds keep a clean sheet - as they did on their previous visit to this venue.

Prediction

Better value, though, could lie in backing fewer than three goals to be scored when these two teams lock horns.

The 17/20 (1.85) selection would have landed in nine of the last 11 matches played at Molineux in all competitions.
