‘We respect them’ - Enyimba’s Sunday Adetunji discusses Rayon Sports duel

Enyimba striker Sunday Adetunji says his side will not underrate Rayon Sports after being drawn against the Rwandan side in the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The People’s Elephants progressed to the knockout stages as winners of Group C and were pitched against the Kigali based club at the draw ceremony held in Cairo, Egypt on Monday.

Following Monday’s draw, the former Abia Warriors man is unperturbed about the outcome and is assuring that they will put up a convincing display to negotiate past the Rwandans.

And further revealed his immediate ambition is to keep 'improving' in the bid to inspire Usman Abdullah's men to their first continental glory since 2004.

“It was a fair draw for us, though we really did not worry about who we were going to meet,” Adetunji told Goal.

“We are in the competition to win and must expect and also be ready for any opponent. The most important thing for us is to prepare well, improve on our previous performances and fight to win.

“We don’t have any information about Rayon Sports but we respect them since they’ve managed to reach this stage of the competition.

"It’s not been an easy journey. We also will concentrate on preparing well to get the maximum points to qualify for the semi-finals.

“Personally, I want to keep working hard in training to improve my game. I want to prove my worth by helping the team win the competition and will put in my hundred percent to achieve it.”
