Samuel Eto'o and Jay Jay Okocha gives Ronaldinho a hard time picking best striking partner

Ronaldinho has admitted that both Samuel Eto’o and Jay Jay Okocha had special skills that made them distinct from the rest of the players he played with.

The former Brazilian midfielder formed a formidable partnership with the Cameroonian record scorer, Eto’o at Barcelona. Previously, he had played with Okocha at Paris Saint-German before his move to Spain.

Gaucho has since admitted that it is extremely difficult to single out the best player between the duo.

“Both of them are great players with great skills and I would admit that it is not an easy choice picking the best. I would rather play with both of them on my team,” Ronaldinho said when challenged to pick a striking partner between Okocha and Eto’o.

At the same time, the two-time Fifa World Player of the year revealed that former Barcelona teammate Carlos Puyol played an integral part in shaping his career.

The duo played together at Barcelona after Gaucho linked up with the Catalan side in 2003 where he went ahead to make 145 appearances. During this time, the Brazilian star, who hanged his boots in 2018, scored 94 goals for the Blaugrana.

But when asked to pick one of the toughest defenders he ever faced in his career, the 38-year-old retired attacking-midfielder proudly bragged that he can't think of any defender, who mounted a tougher challenge to him than his Barcelona teammate Puyol but in training.

“I trained with Puyol, one of the toughest defenders. I don't think there was a tougher defender than him. He was hard to beat in training,” Gaucho told Goal.com in an interview.

Ronaldinho is visiting Kenya as a guest of Betika and the matches attended are sponsored by Betika and was also present at the opening of the Betika stores.
