RUMOURS: Sturridge to keep England place against Iceland

Daniel Sturridge is set to get the nod to start for England against Iceland instead of Jamie Vardy, according to The Sun.

After a much-changed Three Lions side failed to make a breakthrough against Slovakia in their final Group B game, manager Roy Hodgson looks ready to restore most of the players who started against Wales.

Vardy and Sturridge scored the equaliser and the winner in that game respectively after coming off the bench but the Liverpool striker is reported to have lined up alongside Harry Kane and Adam Lallana in training on Saturday.

Kane has yet to score at Euro 2016 despite starting the first two games and replacing Sturridge in the third but looks set to be recalled for the showdown with Lars Lagerback's side.

Kyle Walker and Danny Rose are likely to join him in returning to the starting XI after being rested for the draw with Slovakia, while the same goes for captain Wayne Rooney and Dele Alli in England's midfield.
