Revealed: Why Bernard Mang’oli has been warming Sofapaka bench

Former AFC Leopards captain Bernard Mang'oli was seen as a valuable addition for Sofapaka after joining the club in June.

However, after starting a few games, the midfielder was relegated to the bench with Kennedy Oduor, Hillary Echesa and Ezekiel Okare given priority over him.

Coach Sam Ssimbwa has revealed to Goal the decision to bench the former Ingwe captain.

"First we have to acknowledge, Mang'oli is a good player with experience and is a valuable asset to us. But of late his form has been wanting and that is the reason why he has not been starting matches.

“Last weekend we were to start him against Nakumatt but he fell sick, that is why we pulled him out of the starting line-up.

"It is the same case with Onguso (Wesley), he has not been in his best shape, and the competition is stiff, everyone has to work for his number."

Batoto ba Mungu have collected maximum points from their latest four matches played in the Kenyan Premier League.
