Onyekuru thrilled to score in Anderlecht draw

Henry Onyekuru scored his third goal of the season as Anderlecht forced Kortrijk to a 2-2 draw in a Belgian First Division A clash on Saturday and the lanky striker is delighted with his all-important goal though disappointed not to have secured the maximum points.

Yannis Anastasiou’s men started the game on the front foot with a goal from Hamdi Harbaoui but the reigning champions soon fired back through Nigeria’s Abdul Ajagun in the 52nd minutes.

And Teddy Chevalier’s cleverly taken shot in the 59th minutes gave ‎De Kerels their first lead in the game before second-half substitute, Onyekuru fired home to plunder a point for the Rene Weiler’s tutored side.

The striker then took to the social media to express his feelings on the outcome of the clash.

“Disappointed not to get the win but happy with the goal and the point,” Onyekuru twitted.

The former Eupen talisman will be expected to continue with this fine form when Anderlecht square up against Westerlo in the Belgian Cup on Wednesday.
