The new Black Star talks about his first invitation to the four-time African champions’ squad

Young Boys defender Kasim Adams Nuhu is delighted by his maiden call-up to Ghana’s national set-up.

The centre-back is among the surprise inclusions in coach James Kwesi Appiah’s squad for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Uganda.

The 22-year-old was the first foreign-based player to arrive in Ghana’s camp in Kampala and could well be handed a debut on Saturday due to the injury-forced absence of Jonathan Mensah and John Boye.

“I’m happy with the call-up to the Black Stars team,” Adams told Sports World Ghana.

“It’s really a dream come true invitation. It is also an honour for me.

“I will do my best and make sure I don’t disappoint Ghanaians, one thing I can promise all Ghanaians is hardwork.

“I’m ready to defend the Black Stars colours when given the chance since that is my job as a player.”

Adam’s call-up has everything to do with his form at club level.

The former Mallorca man has played in all but one match for Young Boys in the Swiss topflight this season. He started and lasted for the entire duration of all nine games, scoring twice.

Again, he played 90 minutes in four Champions League games this campaign and has made one full-time appearance for YB in the Europa League following their Champions League exit.
