Maluleka expects Troughton and Barker to make life difficult for Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka has said that they will prepare for Stellenbosch FC the same way they usually prepare for their PSL matches.

The 28-year-old emphasized the importance of winning this Last 32 match, saying that they want to win the two trophies that are on offer.

"Nothing will change, the preparation won’t, but I would just like to think the performance will this weekend compared to how it was against any other team in the league," Maluleka told the Amakhosi website.

"We are going into this game with a serious mindset, forget which league they (Stellenbosch) are playing in, and we want to make sure that we get a positive result, we don’t want any surprises," he said.

"A positive result come Saturday will enable us to progress to the next stage of the Nedbank Cup and that is important to us in our quest to win the trophies that are left for us," he said.

Maluleka expects Sammy Troughton and Steve Barker to come up with a solid game plan to stop Chiefs on the weekend, but he's confident that they can beat their NFD opponents and book their place in the Last 16 of this year's Nedbank Cup.

"From the years that I have worked with both coaches, I can tell you now that it’s going to be a very challenging game for us. All their teams are known for being fighters and we need to be prepared for that come Saturday," warned Maluleka.

"They are fourth on the NFD log for a reason, and that is because of coach Steve and Sammy; they're very intelligent coaches who have been in this game for a long time and know what it takes to cause an upset. We will obviously be aware of that and prepare accordingly," he concluded.
