BIG blow to Atletico who sit at the top of La Liga table with just a three point advnatage over Real Madrid in second.

Oblak came up with a huge penalty save in the first half to keep Atletico in the game, but his side couldn't capitalise on the other side of the pitch.

Marcos Acuna made sure all three points stayed in Sevilla followed with an important save from Bono in the dying minutes of the match to deny Atletico an equaliser.

Sevilla sit comfortably in fourth and have just about secured that last Champions League spot.

'We weren't worried,' said Mason Greenwood

2021-04-04T20:50:00Z

Manchester United's matchwinner Mason Greenwood to BBC: "Credit to Brighton. They scored the first goal, defended well and held us off. We had to break them down and we did that eventually.

"We weren't worried. We knew we had the quality on the pitch. Everyone kept their heads. There's a lot to play for.

"I remember [Danny Welbeck] as a United player. He scored a lot of goals for United and he's still doing the same to this day so credit to him."

🗣️ Mourinho on Newcastle 2-2- Tottenham

2021-04-04T16:01:51Z

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I am frustrated. We needed to win the match and we came to win. We were not far from winning it but, at the same time, we created some instability on the game with so many individual defensive mistakes that we made. We always gave Newcastle a chance to be in the game.

"Of course, we had the biggest chance of the game to make it 3-1 and kill it, then we concede a game the next minute."

When it's put to Mourinho that his teams are normally so good at holding onto leads, he replied: "Same coach, different players."

Asked if he has more work to do with the Spurs' players, Mourinho added: "I don't think so. We work well, we work hard. But there are mistakes which I probably shouldn't even call mistakes because they are related to qualities that players have.

"Looking at the second goal, it's easy to understand because there's three different moments - the cross, the ball at the far post where they won it, and then the ball in the face of the goal where our two centre-backs were in position. You can analyse it easily."

No Easter chocolate for Spurs today...

'We were a bit sloppy. We didn't take our chances and got punished for it.'

2021-04-04T15:24:07Z

Tottenham striker Harry Kane speaking to BBC: "Whenever you are ahead in a game, as we have been a lot this season, and you give the lead away in the last 5-10 minutes, it's always hard to take. I feel like we could have played better in the second half. We were a bit sloppy. We didn't take our chances and got punished for it.

"I think we had some good chances. The final ball, final pass or final touch weren't quite there. That's the fine margins. We need to play better. We need to dust ourselves off and go again next week.

"Their goal woke us up a little bit if I'm being honest. We reacted really well and scored two quick goals then finished the half well. We didn't take that momentum with us [into the second half] and allowed Newcastle back into the game. It's always hard to respond with four or five minutes to go."

FT | Newcastle United 2-2 Tottenham

2021-04-04T14:58:07Z

Newcastle clinched a deserved point thanks to Joe Willock, whose late equaliser cancelled out Harry Kane's double.

The Magpies went ahead in the game through Joelinton, but two goals from Kane propelled Spurs into the lead before half-time.

Steve Bruce's side continued to toil for something in the game and got the rewards their pressure perhaps deserved five minutes before full time.

A big point for the hosts, but they might well feel like they could have had all three points.

GOAL!! Newcastle equalise!

2021-04-04T14:49:14Z

Joe Willock has hauled Newcastle back on level terms! It's 2-2 with five minutes left on the clock. Can they hang on for a big point?

Saint-Maximin has entered the fray!

Newcastle still in it, but time's running out ⏳

2021-04-04T14:28:38Z

They might trail by a goal (thanks to Harry Kane magnificence) but Newcastle are by no means out of this game at all.

Dwight Gayle and Joelinton have been very lively and the way the Magpies are playing they could quite easily crack Spurs' defence again...

Just under half an hour to go. Still 2-1 to Spurs.

The joys of FPL 😂

2021-04-04T14:16:09Z

If you were purring at the prospect of getting some points from Giovani Lo Celso in fantasy football, sorry to tell you... there will be no assist points for that first goal. 😔

Nightmare!

Oh all right, here's another Kane stat ❤️

2021-04-04T14:01:15Z

There's no doubt about it, Harry Kane is up there with the greatest strikers ever to play in the Premier League.

HT | Newcastle 1-2 Tottenham

What a half!

Newcastle took the lead through Joelinton just before the half-hour mark, but the Magpies barely had time to breath before Harry Kane hauled Spurs level. Just four minutes had elapsed when Jose Mourinho's side went ahead - through that man Kane again.

It's been an end-to-end game so far and the second half is shaping up to be an eventful one. What will Steve Bruce say to rally the troops?

Kane again! ⚽️⚽️

2021-04-04T13:40:56Z

Who else?

Harry Kane scored his second goal - his 19th league goal of the season - to put Spurs into the lead. It's 2-1.

It's been an end-to-end game so far!

Spurs & Magpies squander early chances

2021-04-04T13:14:46Z

Hosts Newcastle threatened to take the lead after just four minutes when Joelinton intercepted a header from Davinson Sanchez, but Hugo Lloris saved the day and six minutes later Harry Kane burst through only to be denied by Martin Dubravka. It seems like pre-match predictions of goals are not far off the mark! ⚽️

Spurs + Newcastle = Goals? 🤔

FT | Southampton 3-2 Burnley

2021-04-04T12:52:47Z

Southampton pulled off a sensational comeback on Sunday as they came from two goals down to beat Burnley.

The Clarets went ahead after 12 minutes when Chris Wood scored from the penalty spot, before Matej Vydra doubled their advantage 15 minutes later.

However, the Saints rallied to draw level before half-time with goals coming from Stuart Armstrong and Danny Ings, with Nathan Redmond scoring the crucial winner 15 minutes from time.

The victory sees Ralph Hasenhuttl's side move up to 13th in the Premier League, leaving Burnley hovering above the drop zone in 15th.

Mourinho 'fighting for points'

2021-04-04T12:14:58Z

Ahead of his side's game against Newcastle United, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho said that they are focused on "fighting for points" in their remaining games. Spurs come into the clash against the Magpies in seventh place in the Premier League and can't afford to drop too many more points if they want to secure European football. 🤔

Newcastle are struggling too, but their concern is one of survival as they hover perilously above the relegation zone. The stats don't make for good reading for the hosts either - they've lost five of their last six league home games against Spurs. 😬

It's 1-0 to the Clarets after 12 minutes.

What have the managers said? 🗣

2021-04-04T11:02:55Z

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is hoping to move away from the drop zone today.

"It's an important game for both teams and the team that wins today has a little bit more space between them and the relegation zone. So it's an important game for both teams I think," the German coach told Sky Sports.

Sean Dyche said: "They're a good outfit. We said that earlier in the season. They've had a bit of a tough time since Christmas - that can happen, the Premier League is an unforgiving place, we've been on the wrong side of that ourselves. We've got on the right side of it recently and we've got to continue doing that."

What's in store today? 😍

2021-04-04T10:23:10Z

Today's big game involves Manchester United as they look to pull away from Leicester City and close the gap to Manchester City with a win against Brighton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side had their unbeaten run halted by Leicester in the FA Cup before the international break, but have been in impressive form in the league and will be keen to get off on the right foot again as they look to finish the season strongly.

Before that, Jose Mourinho locks horns with Steve Bruce as Tottenham take on Newcastle United in game that some have disparagingly dubbed 'El Jurassico', while Aston Villa take on Fulham too.

Elsewhere, there is a Berlin derby in Germany as Union face Hertha and Atletico Madrid will be aiming to continue their sensational campaign as they take on Sevilla in La Liga.

The Ings factor ⭐️

2021-04-04T10:19:00Z

Southampton and Burnley go into their game locked level on points, but Burnley have an edge in the form table, having gone unbeaten in their last three fixtures - including a win over Everton at Goodison Park.

Though the Saints won in the FA Cup against Bournemouth last time out, their league form has been disappointing. Nevertheless, they may have a psychological edge, having won the reverse game in September, while the return of attacking duo Danny Ings and Theo Walcott is a welcome boost.

Some good news...

2021-04-04T10:09:25Z

Today's games may be played behind closed doors, but there was some good news earlier today with the announcement that fans would be allowed at the Carabao Cup final. 🙌

While Wembley won't be packed, a limited number of spectators will be in attendance, with the UK authorities and EFL using the game between Man City and Tottenham as a test event.
