Midfielder Kenneth Muguna is eagerly waiting for the start of the season as he prepares for a second life with Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia.

Muguna hastily left KPL in June 2017 when he was snapped by former Gor Mahia coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira, commonly known as Ze Maria to join Albanian club FK Tirana. But the 2016 KPL Player of the Year made a return to K’Ogalo after he parted ways with Tirana owing to ‘personal reasons’.

Speaking exclusively to Goal after he linked up with Gor Mahia in training ahead of the friendly against English Premier League side, Everton early in November, Muguna reveals to why he left Tirana and his expectations in his second stint with the record Kenyan champions.

Muguna, who had a stellar performance when Gor Mahia played Wayne Rooney-inspired Everton in their maiden clash in 2017, believes that K’Ogalo can pull an upset at Goodison Park but only if they believe in themselves.

“This is a very big game because we are going to play against a team that is playing in one of the best leagues in the world. I think, as a player, it is a rebuilding match and we’ll approach it like any other match-without any fear.”

Muguna says that his main goal is to help Gor Mahia win all the titles in the card next season. K’Ogalo will be looking forward to defending the league, the Shield Cup and fight to better their Caf Champions League performance.
