FC Pune City are looking to further strengthen their attack as they are close to signing Dane Kelly, Goal can confirm.

The 26-year-old Jamaican will join the likes of Marcelinho and Emiliano Alfaro, two proven goal scorers in the Indian domestic circuit from last season.

Kelly is the all-time leading scorer in the United Soccer League (USL) with 52 goals to his name. He won the USL in 2012 with Charleston Battery and was named in the All-League First Team in 2014.

Last season he scored 13 goals in 15 matches for Reno 1868 which was his personal best. He started his career with Jamaican outfit Tivoli Gardens before joining Charleston on loan from the Kingston-based club.

He spent a couple of years with Charleston thereafter before moving to Swope Park Rangers for a season where he netted eight goals.

However, despite his impressive run of form, the forward hasn’t yet been called for the national team yet.

“"No, I haven’t heard anything. People keep talking, saying maybe I’ll get called up. Hopefully. Let’s see what happens."

"That’s something that I’ve wanted all along. It would mean a lot to be to represent my country. That would be an honor," he told Goal earlier this year.
