‘HiFL has helped bring dreams to life,’ says Bridget Oyefeso-Odusami

Acting Head, Marketing and Communications, Stanbic IBTC, Mrs. Bridget Oyefeso-Odusami has lauded the impact of the Higher Institutions Football League on Nigerian youths ahead of Saturday’s final.

UNILORIN Warriors and OAU Giants will start proceedings for the third place position before UAM Tillers and UNICAL Malabites lock horns for supremacy at the Agege Stadium.

The competition pooled 16 universities across the eight geo-political zones in Nigeria together to jostle for the top prize.

With the winning team set to represent Nigeria at the International University Sports Federation (FISU) games, Oyefeso-Odusami is pleased with the tournament that has helped youngsters actualise their dreams of playing competitive football.

"Sometimes, you really never know what you have in you until you are put out there in a competition,” Oyefeso-Odusami told Goal .

"We're glad that we're able to bring dreams to life because a young boy could have sat down somewhere would have thought that one day he would be scouted.

"I'm glad we partnered to bring that opportunity to life so beyond our brand, most importantly the fact that we're able to move people forward gives us great joy.

"I can see that the highest goal scorer is already being scouted, these are the little things that we see that give us joy - putting our money behind great ideas in building people and a great nation.

"We're looking forward to a great occasion on Saturday and may the best man win and dreams actually be fulfilled.

The Higher Institution Football League has attracted sponsorship from corporate bodies and when quizzed if Stanbic IBTC will continue the partnership for the 2019 season.

"We will be there but the details are not yet known. We will reach more schools, more youths and more dreams we'll be fulfilled," she continued.

"We will help more people move forward, with regards to studies, the game of football and, dreams and aspirations."
