Free-scoring Jesse Were edging close to Zesco United's 50 goal mark

Jesse Were scored his 45th goal for Zesco United in a 1-0 league victory over Nakambala Leopards on Sunday.

The Kenyan striker has been on a fine form in the new season, scoring in his last three games for the Team Ya Ziko.

Were, who arrived at Zesco United in 2016, scored the only goal of the match in the second half to extend Leopards poor away record as they continue to look for their first win on the road this season.

Another Kenyan player David Owino did not feature in the slim victory. Zesco United's win took their point tally to 34 and top of the Zambian Super League table.
