With rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns dropping two points each in a 0-0 draw on Saturday night, it was a win-win weekend for Orlando Pirates.
Bucs gained those two points and they are now just five points behind leaders Masandawana.
Lorch, who eventually won the man of the match award, doubled Pirates’ lead for his first goal of the campaign, coming 18 minutes from time.

The goal somewhat dashed any hopes of Roger de Sa’s team, Platinum Stars, coming back into the game, and it was all the Pirates technical team needed to put the pressure on the log leaders.
