Indonesia and Bhayangkara FC midfielder Evan Dimas Darmono has reportedly rejected an offer tabled by Thailand's Chonburi FC to join a Malaysian side, according to reports by Goal's correspondents in the region today.

According to Goal Thailand, the salary offer made by the Thai League T1 side is lower than what has been offered instead by the Malaysian club to the 22-year old, which is reportedly in the region of USD 20,000 (RM83,570).

"We had been working on Dimas' deal for a long time, already reaching principal agreements.

"But then another offer came from a Malaysian club, which doubled the salary we offer, so he decided to join them instead," Goal Thailand was told by Jeerasak Chomthong, Chonburi's Director of media.

Goal Indonesia meanwhile had earlier this week quoted Bhayangkara team manager AKBP Sumarji as saying that Evan will depart the club, along with the club's young striker Ilham Armaiyn, for 33-time Malaysia Cup champions Selangor.

"(He's leaving) for Selangor according to what he told me. I can also confirm that Ilham too has received an offer from them, but I told Ilham, I want to meet the other party (Selangor) as well, if the salary offer (for Ilham) is high then there is no problem," said Sumarji.

However, the Red Giants have refused to confirm any signings from Indonesia. Selangor manager Abd. Rauf Ahmad told Goal that they have only touched base with Evan, and will only announce further updates on their squad for the next season some time next week.

"I cannot confirm anything yet, they are simply rumours. But there have been initial discussions with his agent," said Rauf on Wednesday in a brief telephone conversation.

Recently, Indonesia winger Andik Vermansah has announced that he will be leaving Selangor, which he had played for since the 2014.

Selangor finished the 2017 Super League in the sixth place, while reaching the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Cup.

Evan meanwhile just last week lifted Indonesia's Liga 1 title with the Guardians.

Apart from Selangor, PKNS FC and Melaka United too have been linked with the midfielder.
