Convicted murderer Bruno has received no less than nine offers to restart his professional football career, according to the goalkeeper's agent.

Bruno, formerly of Flamengo and once tipped for a move to Barcelona, was found guilty of planning the murder in 2010 of former lover Eliza Samudio, who had claimed she had a child by the player.

According to testimony given by a cousin of the player, Samudio was cut up into pieces and fed to Bruno's Rottweiler puppies in order to dispose of the body.

In 2013 he was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the crime, but was released in February after almost seven years behind bars.

Why Barcelona should appoint Sampaoli

And agent Lucio Veloso Coutinho assures that Bruno, now 32, has no shortage of options as he seeks to take to the pitch again.

"Bruno is still looking at other offers," he said, when asked about reported interest from Bangu.

"Almost 10 clubs have already shown interest. We cannot mention them all now for contractual reasons.

"In no more than 10 days he should reveal his new club."

Bangu, the Rio de Janeiro city where Bruno ironically spent part of his sentence in prison, later denied any approach for the goalkeeper.

"Bangu is unaware of any offer made to Bruno, as reported in the press," the club wrote on its Twitter account.

The agent's assertions caused widespread outrage in Brazil, with many speaking out against the possibility of any club hiring the convicted killer.

"The goalkeeper Bruno had the mother of his child killed. He gave the body to his dogs," media personality Bic Muller fired on Twitter.

"This guy got offers from nine clubs. Let me refresh your memory: he KILLED the mother of his child to avoid paying maintenance."

Following his release Bruno failed to apologise for his crime, claiming that he 'paid dearly' for the murder.

"However much time I spent inside, I want to make clear that a life sentence for me wouldn't have brought her back to life...

"I paid dearly, it was not easy. This will help me as an experience, it has been a learning experience, not a punishment."
