Borussia Dortmund star Aubameyang plans surprise ahead 100th Bundesliga goal

Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is planning a surprise for fans should he reach a milestone of 100 Bundesliga goals.

The 28-year-old has notched 13 league efforts in 15 appearances this season to become the highest-scoring African in the German top-flight history with 98 goals, after displacing Tony Yeboah's 96-goal record in Dortmund's 2-1 loss to Werder Bremen on December 9.

With the German league set to resume from its traditional winter break this Sunday, the Gabon marksman has his eyes set on reaching a century of goals.

"It's all kicking off again, and hopefully we can make a good start with a home win," Aubameyang told Bundesliga website.

"I'm closing in on 100 league goals, and I've something in mind for when I get there, but it's a surprise."

Aubameyang who scooped the league’s top scorer award with 31 league goals last season highlighted the feat as one of his memorable moments in Germany.

"It was an extraordinary moment; I couldn't hold back the tears. I put a lot of work into fulfilling that dream, of finishing top scorer one day. And it's all the harder when you're up against Robert Lewandowski.

"For me, as an African player, it's something special. I hope I can score a lot more goals."

The former AC Milan prodigy will be aiming to increase his tally when Peter Stoger’s men welcome Wolfsburg to the Signal-Iduna Park on Sunday.

Dortmund are placed third in the Bundesliga log with 28 points from 17 games – 16 points adrift leaders Bayern Munich.
