Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, who is now in charge of Championship side Plymouth, is currently living apart from his wife and their four sons after accepting a new professional role in Devon. They could soon be half the world apart as Coleen prepares to enter the jungle.

It is being claimed by The Sun that Coleen’s fee to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ will top the £1.5 million paid to MP Nigel Farage in 2023. She believes the time is right to accept an offer to appear on the Australia-based show. A source has told The Sun: “Now that Wayne is no longer working in the US and the children are older, Coleen is more available to throw herself into work projects. She has an incredibly tight-knit family, who can help out with childcare while she is away. Her boys will love watching her on the show. She isn’t a fan of bugs and creepy-crawlies or sleeping outdoors, but she is up for a challenge and has great determination.”

Production teams at ITV are eager to see Coleen lift the lid on her personal life – including her infamous ‘Wagatha Christie’ legal battle with Rebekah Vardy and married life with Wayne. The Sun’s source added: “The campfire chats are set to be bombshells as there is so much she could lift the lid on, from all the drama of the Wagatha trial to her turbulent marriage to Wayne and his football career. She is expected to be very popular with viewers and she could triumph over Becky again if she goes further in the competition than her.”

The source went on to say that: “I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board. She’s always been a massive fan of the show and loves watching it with her boys. ITV are over the moon that the stars have aligned this year and she can fit it in. The series is set to be one of the best yet. Coleen has a huge fanbase and she won massive plaudits for her classy handling of the Wagatha Christie case. She’s excited to show fans a different side to her and prove she can survive without her creature comforts.”

Coleen is reportedly set to head Down Under in November, although a spokesperson for ITV has said: “Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity are just speculation.” Wayne will be unable to offer support by his wife’s side, or meet up with her once she leaves the jungle, as he is committed to three-year contract at Plymouth.
