VIDEO: MUTV commentator goes viral for brutal Kurt Zouma ‘cat’ jibe during live coverage of Man Utd’s Premier League win over West Ham

Manchester United's latest Premier League outing saw them welcome the Hammers to Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag’s side ran out 3-0 winners on the day, with Alejandro Garnacho bagging a brace while Rasmus Hojlund extended his scoring run in top-flight competition to four successive games.

At one point during the first half of said contest, West Ham centre-half Zouma collided with team-mate and fellow Frenchman, Alphonse Areola. As he went to make to make a clearance, the former Chelsea star caught his goalkeeper in the face with his shoulder.

While watching replays of the heavy blow, one of the MUTV commentators took the opportunity to remind Zouma of the part that he played in an animal cruelty incident from February 2022. He said of the France international: “He can be physical, Kurt Zouma, just ask his cat!”

Said comment relates to a video that surfaced online showing Zouma kicking and slapping his pet cat alongside brother, Yoan. He would go on to plead guilty to two counts under the Animal Welfare Act and was fined two weeks’ wages – around £250,000 – and sentenced to 180 hours of community service.
