Musiala bagged his fifth, sixth and seventh goals of the season in a successful cup outing for Vincent Kompany's side. The game was over by half-time, with all four of Bayern's goals coming before the break. It is usually striker Kane who is heading home with the match ball due to his penchant for hat-tricks, but this time it was the young German and he wasted no time doing his best impression of the England captain after the match.

Kompany putting out a strong side against their Bundesliga opposition suggests the former Burnley boss is going all out to secure silverware in his first season as head coach. That will suit Kane, who has yet to lift any trophies since leaving Tottenham over a year ago.

Bayern return to league action this weekend and they will also discover their opponents for the third round of the DFB-Pokal. They host Union Berlin on Saturday afternoon and will be hoping for an easy draw in the cup competition they have won 20 times, but not since 2020.
