Tottenham will not allow themselves to be bullied by Atletico Madrid into selling star centre-back Romero, according to The Telegraph. The Argentina international has emerged as one of Spurs' most important players and was crucial in the latter stages of the glorious Europa League campaign, delivering a player of the match performance in the final against Manchester United.
Romero had a campaign disrupted by injury during 2024-25, making a total of 26 appearances in all competitions. Micky van Ven and Radu Dragusin's fitness issues meant Tottenham often had to field the likes of Ben Davies and Archie Gray in central defence on their way to finishing 17th in the Premier League.
