Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney sent ‘more investment’ message at Wrexham amid talk of ‘big plans’ for area of the club that could end up saving them money
Former Wrexham defender Mark Creighton hopes attention will soon be diverted in that area, posting on social media after seeing the Red Dragons’ youth team move to within two wins of becoming EFL Youth Alliance North West champions: “Still producing fantastic talent. Imagine how well our academy can do with a little more investment. We have big plans for the academy I am told, which is great news for the club and the people who have worked tirelessly while it was under funded for years and years.”

The academy will form part of Reynolds and McElhenney’s long-term vision for Wrexham. They have had to focus on the senior side for now, in a bid to get them climbing the divisions, but ongoing success at that level means time and funds can start to be spread a little thinner.
