Hollywood co-owners at SToK Racecourse have never been shy of making the money available that allows collective dreams to be chased in North Wales. They have bankrolled a historic run of three successive promotions.

Record-breaking revenue figures have been posted, as the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series and a number of lucrative commercial deals generate even more finances, and the Red Dragons are ready to spend again in the summer of 2025.

It has been claimed that they have a £30 million ($41m) kitty, with Phil Parkinson looking for marquee additions to his squad, but Wrexham have been informed that having deep pockets is no guarantee of success in the second tier of English football.

Former EFL star turned pundit Don Goodman has told Football League World: “Well, £30m in the Championship is a huge amount of money for a single club to outlay on players.

“But ultimately we’ve seen it before, and it doesn't always work, so it is completely all about getting the right players: the right calibre, with the right mentality, that are there for the right reasons and not just finance, because obviously because the more you pay a player in terms of transfer outlay, the more you’re probably going to have to pay them in terms of remuneration.

“So it’s a balancing act for Wrexham, but certainly spending that much money will obviously - or should obviously - give them a better opportunity to succeed in the Championship.”

Wrexham have been distanced from a number of players that boast Premier League experience - including Jamie Vardy and Tom Cairney - but are now being linked with England international left-back Aaron Cresswell as he prepares to leave West Ham as a free agent.
