  • WHAT HAPPENED?

There has been widespread speculation over Grealish's future at City after he fell down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola in the 2024-25 campaign. He made 20 Premier League appearances and clocked just 715 minutes on the pitch as Guardiola favoured the likes of Savinho and Jeremy Doku in wide areas. Grealish's omission from City's final matchday squad against Fulham at the weekend added even more fuel to rumours of his imminent exit.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

According to the Mirror, Grealish could look for other opportunities as he wants more game time, while the Cityzens are open to offers for the man they signed from Aston Villa for £100m ($136m) in 2021. However, the biggest hurdle that City will have to overcome is the England international's massive wages. The club would ideally like to part ways with the 28-year-old permanently, but could also be open to the idea of loaning him out.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Guardiola has hinted that Grealish could be on his way out as he aims to trim the size of the City squad for next season, but the Catalan coach also denied any suggestion of a rift between him and the former Villa star.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MANCHESTER CITY?

After a rare trophyless campaign, Guardiola is on a mission to rebuild the team and challenge for all the titles once again next year. The Cityzens are currently looking for a replacement for talismanic midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who will part ways with the club after the expiration of his contract this summer.
