'He has the potential' - PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi backs Ethan Mbappe to emulate older brother Kylian and achieve greatness

Like Kylian Mbappe, his younger brother Ethan has also entered the final six months of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain but club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi remained confident that the siblings will continue at the club beyond the summer of 2024.

Speaking to Le Parisien, Al-Khelaifi said, "He's a Parisian, he loves the club too. He wants to stay a long time too, confided Al-Khelaïfi in an interview with Le Parisien. He's a boy who came out of our academy. He's been seven years is with us, he has the potential to be a great player. The coach (Luis Enrique) loves him. It's nice."

The 17-year-old midfielder followed in his brother's footsteps and made his senior debut for the Ligue 1 champions in December 2023 when he came on as a substitute against Metz. He then again appeared in PSG's Coupe de France encounter against Revel which they won 9-0 on January 7.

Thomas Tuchel's side, who are leading the title race by five points, will play their first Ligue 1 match of 2024 on Sunday when they take on Lens away from home.
