  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The Championship match between Cardiff and Stoke was suspended after a medical emergency occurred in the crowd. The game was goalless when it was paused in the 35th minute, with Bluebirds striker Yousef Salech heading into the crowd to offer help and draw attention to the person in need of attention.

    After Salech went into the crowd, club trainers and medical staff attended the scene before referee Michael Salisbury took the players off the pitch following a five-minute delay. Cardiff later confirmed emergency services had taken the unwell person to hospital, while Stoke sent their "prayers and best wishes" to the supporter.

    On Twitter, Cardiff posted: "Emergency services are taking the unwell person to hospital. Incredible work from you all. All of our love and thoughts are with you, #Bluebird!"

    Stoke added: "Most importantly, we send our prayers and best wishes to the supporter who has received treatment from both clubs' medical staff and paramedics."
