    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite the two players ending with 21 goals each, it is Dembele who will be given the Ligue 1 top scorer award as, according to the rules, the player with fewer goals from penalties is recognised as the winner. Dembele has a single strike from 12 yards, whereas Greenwood has seven.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Greenwood also boasts of having the most goals (21) in a debut season for a Marseille player in the 21st century, ahead of the likes of Bafetimbi Gomis (20) and Chelsea legend Drogba (19). However, going further back he is second-best to Alen Boksic, who managed to net 22 times in his first season in 1992-93.

After a sensational season in France, a host of clubs are gunning for Greenwood's signature, which reportedly includes Barcelona as well. However, the forward has insisted that he will continue at the Stade Velodrome and savour Champions League football next season after finishing in second place behind PSG.
