Man Utd provide update on Nottingham Forest clash at Old Trafford in wake of Merseyside derby between Everton & Liverpool being postponed as Storm Darragh wreaks havoc

After Everton's Merseyside derby clash with Liverpool was postponed due to the adverse weather conditions, United have revealed that their Saturday evening game against Forest at Old Trafford is still scheduled to go ahead. The same is the case for Crystal Palace's afternoon encounter with Manchester City at Selhurst Park.

United's Matchday X account tweeted: "Today’s Premier League fixture at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is scheduled to go ahead as planned. The club will continue to consult the relevant authorities throughout the day and will update supporters immediately if anything changes. We understand that fan travel will be disrupted by the weather so this fixture will not be included in the minimum number of games a season that season tickets must be used."

While Palace tweeted: "Today's fixture at Selhurst Park is scheduled to go ahead as planned. We advise all supporters to plan their journey in advance and take care travelling to and from the stadium."

The Met Office has advised millions of people to remain indoors as winds of up to 90mph batter the United Kingdom on Saturday. A rare 'danger to life' red warning was in effect in western parts of England but in Manchester and London, where the aforementioned matches are set to take place, there are lower yellow warnings for high winds in place.

United, who are 13th in the Premier League, host seventh-placed Forest at 5.30pm on Saturday whereas fourth-from-bottom Palace entertain defending Premier League champions City at 3pm.
