    THE BIGGER PICTURE

United have broken down each coach's role, with Fernandes coming in as assistant head coach. The Red Devils claim he is Amorim's "right-hand man" at the age of 29, having worked with him at both Braga and Casa Pia. Vital comes in as a goalkeeping coach, while Ferro will work as a first-team coach. Barreira returns to England as a physical performance coach, as he was previously employed by Arsenal and Liverpool. Candido will also work as a first-team coach but United have confirmed that his appointment is still subject to receiving a visa.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Amorim is working with the United players who are still at the club during the international break and has been made to wait for his first game in charge against Ipswich Town. He signed off from Sporting CP with a stunning comeback victory over Braga; his side came from 2-0 down to win 4-2.
