‘A broken man’ - Fans are concerned for Kylian Mbappe as Real Madrid star looks ‘lost’ & gets ‘ignored’ by Jude Bellingham in Liverpool tunnel footage

Mbappe's poor performance in Real Madrid's loss to Liverpool in the Champions League stole the headlines on Wednesday night but fans on social media noticed the Frenchman appeared to be ignored by his team-mates in the Anfield tunnel at half-time. After trying to get Jude Bellingham's attention and the England star not even looking his way, the 25-year-old lent back against the wall looking solemn ahead of the second half.

Fans took to X to have their say on the matter, with @imkikosuarez posting: "I saw this sh*t and immediately thought he looks beaten. This type of body language at half-time looks like a broken man who accepted defeat. Idk wtf is going on with him mentally but this isn't the Mbappe we all knew."

@Madrid_ista26 agreed and added: "Mbappe looks so lost. You gotta feel sad for him."

Another user, @DeanCFC_, believes the incident is related to Mbappe's low confidence levels. He posted: "Damn, Mbappe looks so lost. No doubt in my mind that his confidence is on the floor at the moment & he’s not getting any respect from his new teammates. Why is Bellingham completely ignoring him?"

@UtdFaithfuls questioned why Bellingham did not even acknowledge his team-mate in the tunnel. He said: "Why did Bellingham ignore Mbappe like that??"

And @Asensii20 simply felt sympathy for the Frenchman, adding: "Peep how sad Mbappe looks.. Rudiger and Jude even aired him. You gotta feel sad for him."

It may simply be the case that Bellingham did not notice that Mbappe was trying to catch his eye in the tunnel, but there is no doubt that the 25-year-old seems disconnected from the rest of the team. Even on the pitch, he appears to be trying too hard to make something happen by himself, rather than using the options available to him. Playing for the most famous club in the world and following in the footsteps of Europe's best is a heavy burden to carry and one that appears to be getting the better of Mbappe at the moment.

It is unlikely that Mbappe will be dropped, especially as Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo are both out injured. The more minutes he gets, the more likely it is he will return to his best form that earned him a move to Los Blancos in the first place. A goal or two against Getafe on Sunday would be the perfect way to silence his online doubters.
