  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Three Lions remain winless from their two March friendlies and could have well succumbed to a defeat but for Bellingham, who brought the Real Madrid DNA of scoring late to salvage something from the friendly with Belgium on Tuesday. His midfield partner Mainoo had a remarkable debut, showing the world that he is ready to rub shoulders with the big boys and is deserving of a place on the plane to Germany in June.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mainoo hardly put a foot wrong against Belgium and exuded confidence with the ball at his feet. Bellingham, who is just a few years older than him but boasts vast European and international experience, has stolen the spotlight after his stunning star to life with Los Blancos. And he admits he wants Mainoo to be allowed to bloom at his own pace, away from any mounting pressure and expectations.

  • WHAT BELLINGHAM SAID

Speaking to Channel 4 after the match, Bellingham said: "He was good tonight. It’s difficult. I’m speaking like the old head here, but I know how hard it can be when there’s a clamour and people put a lot of pressure on you, so I don’t want to add to fuel to the fire. But he’s definitely a brilliant player and he’s going to have an amazing future at Man Utd and hopefully for England as well.

  • DID YOU KNOW?
