Fight night! Cristiano Ronaldo & son accept Canelo Alvarez invite for another boxing extravaganza in Saudi Arabia

The Mexican superstar, who is a four-weight world champion, will be stepping back into the ring on May 3. He is being lined up to slug it out with William Scull, with Canelo looking to secure the 63rd win of his quite remarkable career.

The former undisputed super middleweight champion of the world enjoys legend status in his homeland. Ronaldo, who is still going strong at 40 years of age, is held in similar regard by his fellow Portuguese.

CR7 is now plying his trade for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. He has been a regular at ringside as spectacular fight nights are brought to the Middle East. Ronaldo will have his eldest son in tow when filling another VIP seat.

Canelo has told TUDN MEX of asking Ronaldo to witness his latest battle between the ropes: “Of course he will be there. We've already talked about it. I'm going to visit him during training and he has to be there for the fight. And his son has grown up a bit more and has always been a fan of mine, so they'll be there.”

Ronaldo’s mood when attending the Canelo fight will be dictated by results in his own professional career. Al-Nassr are set to face Yokohama FM on April 26, with a place in the AFC Champions League semi-finals up for grabs there.
