THE BIGGER PICTURE
Lunin's choice seems to be guided by Haaland's suitability as a traditional number nine, contrasting with Mbappe's versatility across various attacking positions. If either of the superstars joins Madrid, it would be a Galactico signing further strengthening the team alongside talents like Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham.
DID YOU KNOW?
Mbappe has reportedly already made his choice to leave PSG in the summer. But he wants to do so on amicable terms and has allegedly promised to give up on a heftyloyalty bonus of €80 million (£69m/$86m), in the event of a summer exit from Paris.

WHAT NEXT?
PSG have identified potential replacements for Mbappe, including Marcus Rashford, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko, as they prepare for the possibility of his departure this summer. In the short term, Mbappe remains committed to the French outfit and determined to guide them to as much silverware as possible at the end of the campaign. He will be in action against Lille on Sunday in a Ligue 1 fixture, whereas Haaland will take the field a day earlier against Everton in a Premier League game.
