  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The Portugal icon was spotted consoling a young mascot before kick-off on Saturday night, offering words of support during an emotional evening. Portugal were back in competitive action for the first time since the death of Liverpool star Diogo Jota and swept Armenia aside in a 5-0 win.

    Ronaldo scored twice during the game, with his first goal coming in the 21st minute. Manager Roberto Martinez said afterwards the goal showed that "Jota is with us" as the forward wore the 21 for the national team. Ronaldo has now sent a message to the young mascot he met at the match and made it clear he made a big impression on the Portugal icon.
