Speculation regarding a return to the small screen for AFC Richmond has been raging for several months. Leading members of cast and crew have spoken openly of their excitement at potentially reprising much-loved roles.
GettyGreen lights for production are said to have been given, with lead star and writer Jason Sudeikis back on board, and there has been exciting talk of the latest series taking humours and emotional storylines in a different direction.
Temple, who plays bubbly PR specialist Keeley Jones, has told Entertainment Weekly when asked for an update on Ted Lasso discussions: “I’ve heard the kind of stunt version of, yeah, potentially, it sounds like there might be a season 4. I don't know when. I don't know exactly who, what, why, where, but I think it sounds like those cogs are turning.”

GettyAmid the rumours of Ted Lasso looking to “self-reboot” in 2025, Temple added on the prospect of branching out on her own with new characters and tales to tell: “The idea of a spin-off with Ted Lasso is a complicated one for me, because it so feels like a team that I don't know if I would want to do a spin-off. I don't want to be a part of it if everybody else isn't. It's a team. It's a real team!”
While looking to remain part of the Ted Lasso “team”, Temple went on to say when asked if a women’s side could be introduced to Richmond – as she and club owner Rebecca Welton hold plenty of power: “I haven't thought about that, but I think that's definitely something I would find to be a great journey for Keeley and also for Rebecca, you know? And I think, also, women's football is something that is so exciting — especially in England, we've been doing so well — but I think it's something that... I don't know, who knows? It would be a great storyline.”
